Our Tours of the Week give you a taste of our superb range of holidays by rail. They feature interesting and often unusual destinations that you perhaps had not ever considered travelling to by train before. Alongside tours that consistently prove to be popular with our customers are holidays to brand new destinations and existing tours that have been refreshed and updated for 2008. We also include additional dates not found in the brochure that have been arranged due to exceptionally high demand.

European Holidays by Rail 2008
This wonderful 9-day two-centre holiday gives you the opportunity to discover the rich architectural, artistic and musical heritage of Salzburg and Vienna. As well as sightseeing in both of these magnificent cities, we enjoy a tour of locations that feature in the film 'The Sound of Music' and a visit to Grinzing in the foothills of the Vienna Woods. A highlight of the holiday is our unique evening visit to the palace of Schönbrunn including a concert in the Orangery and an excellent meal in the Restaurant Residenz. The 31st July and 14th August departures are both in Salzburg during the time of the Salzburg Festival which attracts the best directors, conductors, singers and actors to perform in world-renowned operas, plays and concerts. Our fantastic 8-day holiday is based in the delightful city of Nice on the French Riviera. We stay at the charming Hotel Westminster (4 star), situated on the world famous Promenade des Anglais. This fascinating 14-day holiday takes us to the cultural Far East, where we enjoy a 5-night rail cruise on the luxurious Shangri-La Express, a private charter train. During our stay we travel right through the heart of China, as we journey from Beijing; one of the six ancient cities of China, right through to modern Hong Kong. This amazing 24-day 'trip-of-a-lifetime' takes us on a fabulous journey from Australia's tropical Northern Territory through the 'Red Centre' to South Australia and beyond. The tour begins with a flight via Singapore to Cairns. After some time to explore Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef, we continue with the fantastic 1,900 mile journey from Darwin to Adelaide on board The Ghan, which we break in the heart of the outback to take in Alice Springs, Kings Canyon and Uluru.
